Lotus 9.5 millenium edition install on Windows 8 Pro 64-bit

The following are my installation results for lotus 9.5 millennium edition on Windows 8 Professional edition, 64-bit. First of all, my system information from the DxDiag command:

WARNING: Lotus Smartsuite  is not yet "supported" by IBM but a support statement will be presented in the near future

As with other installs of Lotus software, I began the install by right-clicking the setup.exe file and selecting "run as administrator."

Install begins with an error message stating a known compatibility issue with Approach 9.x

Requesting the Install location

request for feature selection (defaults to install everything)


Choosing install options



Lotus advertisement displays during install


Reboot to finish installation. This was interesting because a reboot is not required for the installation of versions 9.8.x.


Installation of extra third-party apps (all unsuccessful--too old perhaps?). My computer would not accept any of these options and the installation would crash at this point


Register SmartSuite 9.5


Registration form for SS 9.5. Eventually falters because the IBM registration site does not appear to exist anymore


SmartCenter browser running on Win8 Pro 64-bit. Mozilla Firefox is now the official browser for IBM products.


1-2-3 running on Win8 Pro 64-bit


WordPro 9.5 running on Win8 Pro 64-bit



Freelance 9.5 running on Win8 Pro 64-bit


Fastsite 9.5 running on Win8 Pro 64-bit.
